Whittling away out in the Workshop

Welcome to Out in the Workshop, where a love of the outdoors meets craftsmanship. With a passion for wood carving, Brian specialises in creating intricate sculptures, particularly small/life sized bird and animal carvings. Each piece is meticulously crafted with many hours spent out in the workshop at home.

He is a member of the British Decoy and Wildfowl Carving Association and Bentley Wildlife Carvers and is keen to promote the enjoyment of carving and birds through his work.

Bentley Wildlife Carvers are a group of hobbyists who meet weekly in Lewes and monthly at Arundel Wetlands Centre to practice, learn and teach.

Do get in touch if interested in taking part (no experience necessary). We supplement our Arundel Wetlands meetings with 4 "Bird in a day" sessions through the year, which aim to teach beginners how to carve a simple bird and enable participants to return home with their own carving. These sessions run from 10am to 4pm and can be found on the Wetlands website. There is a charge and all monies go to the Wetland Centre.
